Time to take the old corner off and assess the damage.

Some bad areas of rust that threaten to weaken the vans frame…..no problem we’ll cut it out and put a new bit in…..

The new Off Side rear corner arrived ready to be disected for its skin and the pillar to make the necessary repairs to Jim’s bus.

First offering to check the fit of the new fuel tank tray…..as expected, because this is an original piece cut from a rust free van the fit is perfect.

Final prep and cleanup ready for fuel tank tray.

Once last small repair needed before the new fuel tank tray goes in.

Next up, removing all old paint and muck, ready for offering in to place.

The original fuel tank tray of this bus was well and truely rotten, so we have this donor section cut from a rust free van to make the necessary repairs…..First job on the list, remove all the excess metal.

Offered up, welded in and finished off, another chassis repair completed to make this bus solid again.

Once we’re happy, the repair is finished…..on to the next one.

After sourcing a rust free chassis section we set about cutting to the size we need to make this chassis strong once again!!
